Ibiza!

OK Tokyo are heading out to Ibiza next month to play Ibiza Rocks.. for a month. Tankus The Henge have just been confirmed for the Greenbelt weekend (August Bank Holiday) with Fightstar, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Starfield, 1 Giant Leap and Linchpin. The band are also confirmed to support The Wonderstuff in July. Aunty Doubles are currently on a break from recording/touring to take their A-Levels, but they've put a new video up on their page to keep the fans breathing while the band concentrate on the academic side of their rock n' roll lives. Naked in Black have recently come out of hibernation to put the mythical Summer Demos '07 up on their myspace for free download and open up a series of 3 'JUNE CONTESTS'. So far, 13 myspace users have won t-shirts, CDs, and condoms. Nice.

Tonight Aunty Doubles are playing the London date of the SKINS PARTY tour. You could go and check that one.. if it wasn't already sold out. The boys rocked Reading's Facebar last night and are headlining Highbury's Buffalo Bar tomorrow night (Sunday).

New year, new fears. So it's been a crazy however-many months since we posted last. In that time, Tankus have been out on tour, the single has been selling and selling away, and their stock of orange t-shirts has sold out at every show. Maidenhead's finest indie act AUNTY DOUBLES have been welcomed warmly into the SPIN.media fold, and their new independent release E.P. is an essential buy. So, Tankus The Henge have officially sold out their show at the London Underworld. Hell yeah. Rumour has it that the promotors are opening up more tickets for on the door sales, so if you turn up early you've still got a chance of getting in to everyone's favourite season finale! Last night

Last night Tankus the Henge hit the Camden Barfly like an angry butterfly, flapping it's wings wildly and careering around in madness, but still making everyone smile wider than that time when they watched a sex scene with their family and it wasn't awkward. You learn from such things. But back to last night; the band played a great set and people danced, merch was sold, and all was good. The single "Smiling Makes The Day Go Quicker" will be released worldwide via digital means on the 29th October 2007. Up until then, there will be a two week pre-release period on iTunes.

Mercy and love

We met Aaron Weiss (mewithoutYou) at the Borderline in London yesterday. He grabbed Luke's diary and wrote: "If there was some way for me to take the mercy and love I've been shown and put it here for you to read and then feel and know, I imagine I'd do it... But there'd probably be some adverse effect, some cheapening of it." Woops. But seriously, he's a great guy, those are good words and they are a band worth seeing.

Give It A Name festival 2007 aftershow in London. What the hell. Luke & Rich (and a random guy declaring himself the band's manager) stroll down the old-school staircase into a scene out of America in the fifties - a diner/bowling alley, perfect to every single detail, and a riotous crowd made up of bands like theAudition & Sparta, label reps from Warner, Victory and Vagrant, and those three welsh guys who stuck around for the rest of the night. Naked in Black! signed autographs today. Autographs?? Also had a pasty.
